SESSION DESCRIPTION: Renewable production and consumption requirements are quickly changing the way that federal facilities are managing their approach to energy procurement and capital project allocation. With ever-increasing onsite renewable energy requirements, the fastest and most cost-effective way to meet these mandates is to implement large-scale projects. This session will offer a prospective on why developing large renewable projects is necessary and the best approaches for planning and executing them, with a highlight of some successful case studies.

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Receive an update on recent innovations in established renewable technologies. Discover how renewable technologies are working for other agencies, where renewable technologies are being implemented, and how project costs are expected to be impacted. One futuristic technology will also be showcased.

SESSION INTENT: Receive current market and technology updates. Investigate the differences and best uses of each module type in the federal marketplace.

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Examine composition, applications, strengths, and weaknesses of both crystalline and thin-film technologies. This session uses case studies to examine the ideal use of each technology for different project constraints.

SESSION INTENT: Discover the economic drivers and incentives available for renewable energy projects and how to quickly secure the best incentives.

SESSION DESCRIPTION: Examine the important economic factors to consider when evaluating a renewable energy project at your site. Identify the key drivers to making a renewable project financially viable, including available incentives (e.g., grants, tax credits, utility rebates, and renewable energy certificates), how they apply to different ownership models (e.g., owned, leased, and PPA), and other non-financial factors that drive system economics (e.g., location, rates, and system size).
